New to Las Cruces, I spend my time making water media art in new ways. Since moving here from the Big Bend area of Texas in 2018, I have enjoyed opportunities to learn more in workshops and by participating in exhibits with some incredible local artists.
My work focuses on those “moments of connection” with the world around me. Sometimes they reveal themselves through representative art, and yet the true nature of the connection sometimes shows itself more abstractly. I am currently exploring the boundaries and similarities in various styles of water media, including woven watercolor with rice paper, acrylic on canvas, and gouache.
I have been a founding steering committee member of a new gallery in Mesilla, Agave Artists, which opened in 2019 and exhibits the work of 20+ local and regional artists. I continue to exhibit my work and serve on the steering committee for Gallery on the Square in Alpine, Texas. I am an active member of New Mexico Watercolor Society, Artforms, and Big Bend Arts Council.
As a volunteer member at the local maker space Cruces Creatives, I am able to offer workshops there, and am available for private lessons in my home studio.
